Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
John 11:35 Jesus wept.
Grieve + Believe = Process pain & suffering
Strength Fallacy - If I am strong, I will not mourn.
“God is the cure give, you are the caregiver.”
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
1. Protest (Tell God your pain)
Psalms 13:1 How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How
long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and
day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How
long will my enemy triumph over me?
2. Petition (Tell God what you want Him to do about it)
Look on me and answer, Lord
my God.
Give
light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
3. Praise (Expression of trust in God today, based in His character and His action in the past, even if you can’t yet see the outcome.)
But I trust in your unfailing love;
my
heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for
he has been good to me.
